The second week of games have come for Great Plains teams. The GPAC gets some games on the board, joining the NSIC and NSAA conferences. Next weekend, if the weather holds out, I will be out covering Bismarck State College for my first baseball game of 2022.
GPAC
Northwestern would start their season going 2-2 against Clarke University. One of the big stories to start the season is Northwestern Head Coach Brian Wede, earned his 400th career win. Congrats to coach Wede.
Midland would start the season going 3-1 as they would defeat Oregon Tech, Arizona Christian, and Park University, but would fall to Vanguard.
Doane would lose their first two games of the season before coming back to score 44 total runs in their final two games against Southwestern Assemblies of God University to go 2-2 to start the season.
NSIC
Minot State continued their season going up against Regis University. They would only take one of the three games moving them to 4-3 overall on the season.
St Cloud State would open their season facing a four different opponents. They would fall to Henderson State, Missouri Western State, and Northwest Missouri State. They would get their first win of the season as they faced off against Ouachita Baptist.
Minnesota Crookston would travel to a much warmer Hawaii to continue their season with a 6 game series. They would on win one game against the University of Hawaii at Hilo to move their overall record to 3-6.
Augustana would take on a trio of teams to get their season underway. They would record loses to Arkansas Tech and Arkansas Monticello, while defeating Central Missouri.
NSAA
Dakota State would go on the road to take on Avila University in what was scheduled to be a three game series that ended up being a two game series. Dakota State would end up splitting the series to start their season.
Presentation went on the road to take on Southwestern College in a three game series. They would drop all three games and their record would fall to 1-5.
Bellevue would face off against two ranked teams early in the season. Against #29 Oklahoma City University, Bellevue would split a two game series, but would fall to #9 Oklahoma Wesleyan University.
