Who are some key returning position players and what do you hope to see from them this year?

Xander Orejudos 2B: Xander is a dynamic player who can take over a game at the plate and in the field. He had an outstanding summer in the West Coach League and we believe he will be a difference making in 2023.
Kendall Yackley SS: Kendall is a two way player that has been in our program for five years. He is an elite defender, has pop in his bat, and attacks the strike zone on the mound.
Triston Madison C: As a freshman, Triston won the Gold Glove as a catcher in our Conference. Triston is also a gap to gap hitter and has the ability to change a game with one swing.
Isaiah Roebuck OF: Isaiah had a great freshman season for us. He hit .388 and was an outstanding defender in right field. We expect big things from him in 2023.

Who are your key returning pitchers and why?

Trei Hough RHP: Trei is a work horse on the mound who attacks the zone. He was 5-1 last year and we are excited to give him the ball every weekend in 2023.
Payson Mills RHP: Payson is one of the hardest workers on our staff. He has the ability to shut down an opposing lineup, last year he was 6-1 for us.
Hayden Brown RHP: Hayden is a dominate force when he gets the ball late in the game. Last year he was a top closer in our league and we expect big things from him again in 2023.
Ethan Krupp RHP: Ethan is an emotional pitcher who has the ability to get big outs when needed.
Tanner Boe LHP: Tanner has overcome adversity in his career. It has driven him to be an import piece to our bullpen who we call on often to get out of tough situations.
Eric Kessler RHP: Eric is a big piece to the back end of our bullpen, he attacks hitters and isn’t afraid of any situation. Eric will maintain the role of set up and closer this spring.

Do you have an incoming impact freshman or transfers that will help the team in 2023?

Luke Zimmer RHP: Luke is a redshirt freshman who had a tremendous summer up in Canada where he matured and came into his own. This fall he was 3-0 with a .82 ERA.
Alex Tolbert 1B: Alex is a transfer from Cabrillo College. He is a force at the plate who can change a game with one swing of the bat.
Connor Nipp RHP: Connor is a transfer pitcher from Mt. Hood Community College. He had a great career for one of the best teams in the NWAC. He has a work horse mentality and we expect him to be one of our top starting pitchers.
Payton Smith OF: Payton is a transfer from Everett Community College. He is a very dynamic player who can impact a game in the outfield, at the plate, and on the bases.
Jordan Singleton C: Jordan is a transfer from Shoreline Community College. He will be a big piece for us as a catcher and in the DH role.
Chase Burke OF: Chase is originally from Minot, ND. He transferred to us from Mesa Community College, and he will be a key piece to our outfield play and in our lineup.

What was the focus and what things did you see from the team in the fall?

The focus for the fall was gelling the new pieces of our team with the returning players from last year. We played six countable games and had a 5-1 record. Our team found ways to win close ball games and we hope that continues throughout the spring.

What are the expectations and goals for the team entering the season?

We expect to get better as a team and our goal is to win a GPAC Championship. We also expect to get back to the NAIA National Tournament.
