Who are some key returning position players and what do you hope to see from them this year?
Kendal Hofer (All-Conference 2nd Team), Blake Warner (All-Conference Honorable Mention) – Hofer and Warner were two of our top hitters last year. Look forward to seeing them both replicate the success they had last season
Who are your key returning pitchers and why?
Brandon Jaenke (All-Conference Honorable Mention), Alec Danen – Jaenke and Danen are both hard throwing right-handed pitchers that we expect to log significant innings
Do you have an incoming impact freshman or transfers that will help the team in 2023?
Ryan Gill (Freshman from Oconomowoc High School), Gavin Daniel (Transfer from College of Lake County), Spencer Hans (Transfer from Wisconsin-La Crosse), Chad Herrera (Transfer from Crown College)
What was the focus and what things did you see from the team in the fall?
Lot of new faces this fall, spent the majority of the fall semester focusing on evaluating the roster while also taking time to try players at a variety of different positions.
What are the expectations and goals for the team entering the season?
We expect to use the regular season as a spring board into the post-season. We have 4 games against (RV) Ottawa University (43-10 in 2022) and 4 games against (RV) Columbia College (38-14 in 2022), among others, before we open up conference play against (#5) Bellevue University. We made a good run last year and lost in the semi-finals of the conference tournament. As always, hope that we can stay healthy throughout the entire spring season.
